INVITED-TRIAL GUIDE · UPDATED 19 October 2026
Roles and getting started
Who can write, approve and read rules in SmartFACT Automation, and how an invited trial begins.
This guide describes the trial scope. Access and the workflow supported for your site are agreed before the trial starts.
Roles
Owners manage connections, the team, settings and export. Authors describe, draft, test and submit changes. Reviewers approve releases and request activation. Supervisors read decision explanations for their area. Viewers read policies, release status and evidence. Floor staff keep using their own products.
Access follows each product
Your authority in Automation never exceeds your access in the product a rule changes. A reviewer without access to every affected product cannot approve the whole release, and an owner cannot approve a production rule just by being an owner. Sign-in, two-factor checks and organisation access come from SmartFACT Accounts.
Start with one real policy
An invited trial begins with one real policy, a named owner and reviewer, examples your team agrees and a recorded fallback. You can start with a single product and site, and add more as you go.
Automation is included with the paid plan of every SmartFACT product, and is also available on its own. Scope, duration, support and any charges are agreed before access.
